Realization

To realize the value of a sister,
Ask someone who doesn't have one.
To realize the value of ten years,
Ask a newly divorced couple.
To realize the value of four years,
Ask a graduate.
To realize the value of one year,
Ask a student who has failed a final exam.
To realize the value of nin months,
Ask a mother who has given birth to a still born.
To realize the value of one month,
Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of one week,
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of one hour,
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of one minute,
Ask a person who has missed the train, bus, or plane.
To realize the value of one second,
Ask a person who has survived an accident.
To realize the value of one millisecond,
Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.
To realize the value of a friend,
Lose one.
Time waits for no one,
We must treasure every moment we have,
We take everything for granted,
And it's actually quite sad.
Before we know it,
Time flies by,
And all we can do,
Is ask ouselves why.

~Treasure every moment and every friend because we never know when life will decide to take us by surprise.

  1. SAVOR THE FLAVOR
for we've got one life, no time for later
its something that sneaks up on us forever
and will never take time to be bias
    its always against us
    racing the clock of incidents
running for something in our missions
our wasted time we took to listen
just to hear the problemes we couldn't vision
so we attempted to relate, looking for love in the hate
call it fate, call it a man turning irate
a new way to skate as we navigated fate
looking for dawn to break that song
finding the reasons it took so long
    death was a dignitary
dismissed when the calling was cautionary
    time's arrival was the denial
long and lenghty like the nile
taking the run for the long mile
    lives lost in the style
    seeking the nails we file
grains of interest, grains of detest
loving the way you did infest
    my mind with the messages
    taking breath, calming my steps

    ~Living slowly

    Love,
    Digress.
